Privacy
Last updated October 30, 2026. UMA is in private beta.
UMA is a private memory of the stores you care about. What you save is yours: we don't sell it, we don't show you ads, and no one else using UMA can see it.
Who we are
UMA is run by RM Solutions Group Inc., Stamford, Connecticut, USA (“we”).
What we keep
- Your account: your email address and a scrambled form of your password (we can't read it).
- What you save: stores, their places and web addresses, memories, people you name, visits, purchases, products, tags and collections.
- Where things came from: the link, text or description you saved a store from, so you can see later how you found it.
- Search aids: a numeric summary (an “embedding”) of each store's memories, used only to find your stores when you search or ask.
- Messages you send us, such as an invite request.
- Your agreement to these terms: when you create your account, we record that you agreed to the Terms and this page, which versions, when, and from where (your internet address, your browser, and the city, region and country that address is in), as proof of the agreement.
- How you found UMA and how it's used: the site that sent you here and any campaign tag in the link, the page you arrived on, your country (from your internet address; the address itself isn't kept), the kind of device, and an anonymous ID kept in your browser. Once you sign in, these are linked to your account, along with the pages you view and the features you use (for example “saved a store” or “asked Uma”, not what you wrote). We use this only to understand what's working and improve UMA. It stays in UMA's own database, isn't shared with advertisers, and is deleted after 13 months.
What we don't keep
- Photos. Receipt photos and screenshots are read and then discarded. Only what was read from them, after you check it, is saved.
- Your location. “Near me” asks your browser where you are only when you tap it, uses it for that one search, and doesn't store it.
- Voice recordings. Speaking a memory uses your browser's own speech recognition; we only receive the text.
Who helps us run UMA
These services handle your information on our behalf, only to provide UMA:
- Amazon Web Services (United States) hosts the database where everything you save is kept.
- Cloudflare runs the app and makes the search aids (embeddings) from your store memories.
- Anthropic (Claude) reads what you tell UMA, your receipts and screenshots, and your questions, and writes the answers. It gets only what's needed for that request, under terms that don't let it use your data to train its models.
- Google Maps is used to look up store names, places and areas you mention. It receives the search text, not your memories.
- Resend sends emails such as sign-in links and invitations.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that forms like the invite request are sent by a person, not a bot.
How long we keep it
Until you delete it. You can delete anything one item at a time, or your whole account from Account: everything is removed for good two days after you ask, and you can change your mind until then. Backups of the database are kept for up to 14 days, then deleted.
Store details that come from Google Maps (a place's address and position) are refreshed or removed after 30 days, as Google's terms require.
Your choices
- See and download everything you've saved, any time, as one file from Account.
- Correct or delete anything in the app, or your whole account.
- Ask us about your data through the contact form.
Children
UMA isn't meant for anyone under 13, and we don't knowingly keep their information.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and its date, and tell you in the app if the change matters.
